Athlete in Training: Soccer Player

Explanation of the Problem and its Relevance
It can be difficult for soccer players to find places to train and keep themselves fit. Without guidance, they could overlook the importance of stretching before a workout. They also need to know what workouts are best for the muscles they use in soccer and what nutritional program best suits them.
Design Brief
The goal of our video is to provide aspiring soccer players with stretches to keep them safe. We want to provide soccer players with the workouts that will benefit them the most and the places they can go to do them. We will also give ideas for a nutrition plan that will help them keep their energy levels up.
Design Specifications
The video will include three stretches, safety procedures, locations that the athlete can exercise, and nine workouts. The video will require a camera, editing program, and a quiet place to film with good lighting. Our group will need to use the weight room for filming.
List of Testing Methods
We plan to watch the video ourselves and ask others to watch it. We will ask them specific questions to be completely sure that we cover all the requirements.

Essential Investigative Questions and Prompts:

State the task in your own words, and why it is important to you and to others (in your community and the world wide community):

State how the task is related to the AoI (and the guiding question):

The task is related to the AoI because it helps the community learn how to exercise properly for the specific sport given, and in this case, soccer. Our task is related to the guiding question because it helps you learn as a person how to pull your own weight in exercising and how to push yourself through workouts that might be really hard.

Investigate and list available tools and resources and list them here:

  • LJA weight room
  • Computer
  • Camera
  • Internet
  • Pencil and paper
  • Handouts from P.E. class

Write a concise description of the task and your solution (‘Design Brief’) addressing ‘who’, ‘what’, ‘why’, and ‘how’:

Ty, Mary, and Makana's task is to make a soccer exercise video in order to help other soccer players improve on their soccer skills.

The product must contain three different stretches, workouts, and a nutrition guide for a soccer player.

List 4 different sources, and cite them properly (You need at least 4 and they must eventually be in MLA format):
