Insert Shots
Insert shots are very important in film making. All film makers use these shots while filming their movies or personal videos.
An insert shot is a close up shot of something happening or an object from the full view. Another example is a hand above a gun in a holster.


This is an example of an insert shot.

To make this flow with your film you have a smooth transition to the wide picture to the close up. You can go from one close up to another to tell a scene.
Ex. close up photo of his homework, then his pencil, the clock ticking, then him writing.
